Meet Cambridge Team Lead, Tarshia!

If you’ve visited our Central Square store, chances are you’ve met Tarshia—our Team Leader, whose warmth and dedication inspire everyone around her. As we celebrate Mother's Day, we’re especially grateful for people like Tarshia—mothers, grandmothers, and community builders—who show so much care for those around them.

For nearly two years, Tarshia has been working at Daily Table. But her relationship with Daily Table started long before she joined the team—she was a customer first.

“Some of the customers will come in to just get milk and cheese,” Tarshia says, “and they leave here with a whole basket of groceries because Daily Table has so much to offer. A lot of people are struggling right now, and the food here is very affordable.”

That struggle is only growing. Families are feeling the pressure of rising food prices, cuts to federal nutrition programs, and proposed reductions to SNAP benefits. Tariffs and inflation are driving up costs across the board, making it harder than ever for people to afford healthy food. But thanks to Daily Table—and leaders like Tarshia—affordable, nutritious groceries are still within reach for thousands of families.

Tarshia really believes in Daily Table’s mission and sees the positive impact Daily Table has on the community every single day. She’s always been committed to helping others. As a loving grandmother, a dedicated advocate for individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges in her former role at Vinfen, or now as a neighbor helping others access good food with dignity, her life’s work has always been rooted in care.

Family is everything to Tarshia. “I have six kids, sixteen grandkids, and four great-grandkids,” she says proudly.” Her daughters—international cooks in their own right—keep the kitchen full of Haitian, Jamaican, and Spanish dishes. And at Daily Table, Tarshia keeps the shelves full for other families like hers.

“I love my team, I love the mission—but what I love most are the relationships I’ve built with our customers,” she says.

This Mother’s Day, Tarshia reminds us of the power of care and connection—and the deep impact one person can have. Daily Table is more than a grocery store—it’s a lifeline, and people like Tarshia are the heart of it. To all the mothers and caregivers—in our stores and in the communities we serve—thank you.
